As the final hours of the year tick away, we wanted to take a moment to say a massive thank you to every single UKSN member.

Whether you joined us this year or have been part of the community for a long time, you have helped make UKSN what it is today. A welcoming, family friendly community built around outdoor adventure, camping, bushcraft, preparedness and self sufficiency. With over 3,000 members and growing, 2025 has been another incredible chapter in the UKSN story.
And now, as we stand on the edge of a brand new year, we just want to wish you a very Happy New Year and say this clearly…
We will see you in 2026. And it is shaping up to be a big one.
Looking Back at an Incredible Year
This year has been packed with:
Camps that brought members together in the real world
New faces joining the community
The launch of the UKSN Survival Academy
More shared knowledge, articles, skills and support across the UKSN network
UKSN is not just a website. It is a living community built by its members, and 2025 proved that more than ever.
Why 2026 Is Going to Be Even Better
We cannot share everything just yet, but 2026 already has a lot to look forward to, including:
More UKSN camps and events
Continued growth and development of Charters
New resources, challenges and content for members
Stronger connections between members, both online and offline
If 2025 was about momentum, 2026 is about building something even stronger together.
New Year’s Eve Tips for a Safe and Enjoyable Night
Whether you are seeing the New Year in at home, outdoors, or around a campfire, here are a few UKSN-style tips to finish the year right.
Stay Warm and Comfortable
The weather does not care that it is New Year’s Eve. Dress in layers, keep spare dry clothing handy, and remember that standing still gets cold fast.
Be Fire Smart
If you are enjoying a fire or stove outdoors, keep it controlled, supervised, and appropriate for the location. A safe fire is a good fire.
Plan Your Journey Home
If you are travelling, plan ahead. Know how you are getting home and make sure everyone in your group is accounted for.
Keep It Family Friendly
Fireworks, noise and crowds can be overwhelming for children and pets. Consider quieter alternatives or safe viewing spots where possible.
Take a Moment
Before midnight chaos kicks in, take a moment to reflect on the year. What you learned, who you met, and what you want to work towards in 2026.
Thank You for Being Part of UKSN
UKSN exists because of its members. Your support, participation, kindness and willingness to help others is what keeps this community special.
From all of us at UKSN, thank you for being part of the journey.
Have a safe, warm and happy New Year…And we will see you very soon in 2026.
