Camping in cold weather can be a challenge, especially with a tent like the One Tigris Jovian, which is relatively drafty. Even with a diesel heater, heat can escape through zippers and seams. That’s why we tried the Beyond Construction 75mm Diesel Heater Rotating Vent Bracket.

Our goal was simple: safely direct heat into the tent, cut down on drafts, and create a cosy, comfortable environment for a full weekend of camping. But can a vent really deliver all of that? Its time to grab a mug of hot chocolate, maybe a cheeky biscuit (or two) and dive right into this review!

Design and Build Quality

The vent bracket is designed for both durability and practicality. The unit is 3D-printed from PLA+, giving it extra strength, and the included vent is manufactured from ABS plastic, which is heat-resistant and UV-stable. The vent rotates, allowing you to direct warm air exactly where it’s needed. The vent bracket actually made a noticeable difference in retaining heat and keeping the warm air contained. Overall, the construction feels premium and built to last. The vent bracket proudly features NSE (Never Stop Exploring), a subtle but meaningful nod to the adventure-focused ethos of BeyondConstruction and their Instagram and YouTube channels.

One thing to note, is that in our One Tigris Jovian, the bracket weight caused a small sag in the mesh. We overcame this issue using the tents built in elasticated clips that we placed under the bracket, essentially holding it up. Thankfully thicker canvas tents would likely have no issue.

Choose the Right Version for Your Tent

The Beyond Construction 75 mm Diesel Heater Vent Bracket comes in three different versions to suit different setups and needs:

  1. Bracket Only - Ideal if you already have a 75mm vent or prefer to customise your setup.

  2. Bracket + Rotating Vent - This is the version we opted for. It comes with the bracket and a high-quality rotatable vent, making it a simple, ready-to-use solution for directing warm air into your tent.

  3. Bracket + Vent + 5.5m Ducting - Perfect if you need a complete 75mm airflow system, this version includes the bracket, rotating vent, and an 80mm x 5.5m aluminium flexible duct hose, allowing you to channel warm air from your diesel heater directly into the tent with minimal setup.

Choosing the right bracket depends on your personal requirements. For most users, the bracket + vent option provides an excellent balance of convenience, performance, and affordability - especially if you already have the ducting.

Installation and Setup - Easy and Effective

Installing the bracket is straightforward. Slide it along the tent zipper, position the vent, and attach your diesel heater’s ducting directly to it. This creates a controlled path for warm air into the tent while blocking drafts. There really is nothing to it - no instructions needed!

Potential Improvements: Clips and Cable Pass-Throughs

While the bracket works really well as-is, there are a couple of small tweaks that could make it even better. Clips to casually slide the tent zipper strings into would further help keep everything neatly in place. Additionally, cable pass-through ports with covers that can be popped in place when not needed would add extra flexibility for running power, lights, or other accessories without compromising the tent’s seal.

Fantastic Cold Weather Performance

The diesel heater vent bracket performed exactly as we hoped. The vent directed the heat efficiently throughout the tent. Even though the One Tigris Jovian can be a little breezy in poor weather, this setup kept us comfortable and warm all night without any effort.

Turning on the heater was all it took - no stoking fires, no constantly adjusting the temperature. The rotatable vent allowed us to aim the heat exactly where we wanted, creating an even temperature throughout the sleeping area.

75 mm Diesel Heater Vent Bracket Final Verdict

The Beyond Construction 75 mm Diesel Heater Vent Bracket is a practical, affordable upgrade for anyone using a diesel heater in a tent. In our One Tigris Jovian, it funnelled heat in, kept drafts out, and insects away, making cold-weather camping much more comfortable. If you’re using a diesel heater and want a safer, more efficient way to heat a tent, this bracket is an easy way to unlock tropical nights, even in the dead of winter.
