Why UKSN is Perfect for Off-Grid Living Enthusiasts
Living off-grid is about freedom, sustainability, and self-reliance — but it also comes with challenges. UKSN is where off-gridders, vanlifers, homesteaders, and remote dwellers can come together to share knowledge, solve problems, and build real-world connections with others who get it.

WHY JOIN UKSN?

Community That Understands
Whether you’re solar-powered in a cabin or off-grid on wheels, UKSN brings together people walking the same path — without judgment or noise.

Learn and Adapt
We share real tips on power, water, heat, cooking, waste systems, and more — from people living the lifestyle in the UK’s unique conditions.

Stay Prepared
Being off-grid isn’t just about sustainability — it’s about resilience. UKSN supports you with survival knowledge, emergency planning, and independence-first thinking.

Get More From Your Setup
From battery banks to composting toilets, our members offer advice and product insight that goes beyond theory and straight into real-world experience.

Connect Without Being Online 24/7
With offline-friendly resources, printables, and optional mail-based content, UKSN works even when your signal doesn’t.
WHAT MAKES UKSN SPECIAL?

Welcoming Environment
The UKSN has a fully formed constitution and code of conduct. We also have both anti bullying and child protection policies in place that we expect all members to adhere to at all times. These core documents form the backbone of UKSN, ensuring that our community remains a safe environment for all members.

The UKSN is one of a small number of organisations to hold a Camping and Caravan Exemption Certificate in England, Scotland and Wales. This enables us to operate campsites for sole use by our members without needing planning permission or to apply for change of use for the land.
