 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Terms & Conditions
By purchasing tickets to any UKSN event or camp you automatically agree to comply with the UKSN Community Code of Conduct during the event. You also adhere to instructions given by staff/appointed volunteers, and understand that failure to comply will result in being ejected from the activity and/or event without refund. In addition to this, you will not hold UKSN/Pixlfox Ltd liable for the safety and/or security of yourself, guests, vehicles, equipment, or personal belongings.
  • What Can I Expect at a UKSN Camp?
At a UKSN camp, you can expect a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere designed to be family-friendly and inclusive for all ages and experience levels. Our camps don’t typically follow a rigid schedule, allowing you to explore and enjoy the outdoors at your own pace. Whether you're a seasoned bushcrafter or just starting out, UKSN camps provide a safe and supportive environment where you can practice and develop your skills. You’re free to set up camp, and practice your own bushcraft skills, or simply enjoy the natural surroundings. There are always experienced members on hand, ready to share their knowledge or lend a helping hand if needed. Whether you're interested in learning new techniques, refining your survival skills, or just enjoying the company of like-minded individuals, a UKSN camp offers the perfect setting for both personal growth and community building.
  • Are UKSN Camps Family Friendly?
The majority of UKSN camps are geared towards families. In fact, we primarily use scout campsites for this exact reason. For extra peace of mind all staff hold current enhanced DBS certificates and are on hand at all times to help with any questions you may have. Some events may only be suitable for 18+ adults but they are clearly marketed as such.
  • What Amenities Are Available at UKSN Events & Camps?
Sites are carefully chosen ensuring they are accessible to the majority of members. Most campsites will offer access to running water, toilets and have basic shower facilities as standard. Electric hookup is not usually available so the use of solar panels and power stations are recommended for extended stays. Please note, we do not allow generators without written consent.
  • Do You Have to be a UKSN Member to Attend Events & Camps?
All UKSN camps are for members and their immediate families only. This is due to licensing and organisation rules. If you want to attend please obtain membership prior to purchasing tickets. You will not be permitted to camp, or take part in any activities without presenting your membership card.
  • Are Booking Charges Applicable For UKSN Camps and Events?
A small booking fee is payable on the majority of UKSN events. This is because our booking partner charges us a percentage of the ticket price. Ultimately a portion of this fee is passed on to you, and is displayed when selecting your tickets. To offset this we offer special discounts to UKSN members which ultimately cancel out the fee, and offer an additional discount on the event.
  • Are Family Tickets Available for UKSN Events & Camps?
We know how expensive camps can be to attend, especially if bringing the family. That's why we have recently introduced family tickets that save you £££. Family tickets include 2 adults and 2 children that are 16 years old and under. If bringing any additional children don't forget to purchase the relevant tickets.
  • Are Dogs Allowed at UKSN Camps?
UKSN allows well behaved dogs (at most camps) as long as they are kept on a lead, and under control at all times. If we deem an animal dangerous, or unpredictable you may be asked to leave without refund.
  • Are Blades/Axes Permitted at UKSN Events & Camps?
    > We permit the use of bladed tools and axes as long as they are kept safe and sheathed when not in use. > Children under the age of 17 are not allowed to 'open carry' in any circumstance and must be supervised at all times. > Anyone caught breaking the rules could be ejected from the event without refund.
  • Are Fires & BBQs Permitted?
    > Ground fires are not permitted apart from in designated locations. Please speak to a member of the team for more information. > Please keep BBQs and fire pits raised. > Never leave a fire unattended and always extinguish before you go to bed. > If you accidentally scorch the ground, please inform a member of the UKSN team immediately. FYI you may be required to cover the cost of the damage. > Wood can usually be collected from around a site, but we advise bringing your own. > Please dispose of any ash or part burnt logs responsibly. Do not just throw it in a bush!
  • Where are UKSN Camps Held?
UKSN Camps are predominantly held at Rough Close Scout Site in Coventry. This is due to the excellent facilities, and central location.
