Four people were transported to hospitals as a precaution following a hazmat scare Thursday afternoon in Buttonwillow. Hazmat crews responded to a field near Rowlee Road and Dresser Avenue at around 12:30 p.m. County officials said four field workers felt ill after smelling herbicides being sprayed in an adjacent field. Kern County Public Health officials identified the herbicides as the products: Goal, Alion and Round Up. Two fishermen are missing and one has been rescued after their boat capsized in Loch Fyne in Argyll and Bute. Lifeboats were called out to the scene off Tarbert after a distress signal was received at about 18:00. A man pulled from the water by the crew of a passing vessel told them that two other men had been aboard his 40ft boat with him when it went down. The rescued man has been taken to hospital, where his condition is described as stable. A man is missing and coastal authorities were warning people to stay away from the beaches and cliffs as waves almost 60 feet high were pounding the Oregon Coast on Thursday. The forecast of dramatic seas and unusually high waves drew many people to the shore, and one 44-year-old man remained missing after being swept off a seawall near Depoe Bay on Thursday morning, according to information from the Depoe Bay Fire District. At least two women were today shifted to a hospital and hundreds of residents in Goas Chicalim village evacuated from their homes after a tanker carrying ammonia overturned on the nearby highway connecting Vasco City to Panaji. The incident occurred around 2.45 a.m. when the tanker carrying ammonia from Mormugao Port Trust to Zuari Industries Limited, both located in Vasco, overturned at the highway and gas started leaking from it. Fifteen people were injured -- including children -- after a car crashed into pedestrians along a beach walk in Brazil, local authorities told ABC News. The driver is suspected to have suffered some kind of epileptic attack, according to the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro State. The accident is not thought to be terror-related, officials said.
